About Mrs. Damilano...
I have truly found my passion in teaching because I have always enjoyed learning and growing my mind. I love being challenged, and derive great satisfaction when I am able to solve a problem. I discovered my love for English in high school during my senior year AP Literature class; my teacher told us that he would never tell us what or how to think. He encouraged his students to constantly search for deeper meaning in everything - whether it was a novel we were reading as a class, or something that happened in the news. He encouraged us to expand our minds beyond what we know to be true - to "see beyond the black text on the white page." That stuck with me, and I further developed my love for literature and analysis in college and beyond. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to share that love with my students.
I have a shih-tzu named Lily Boo Radley (or just Lily for short). Yes, she was named after the elusive neighbor in the famous Harper Lee novel ;) I also have two giant Maine Coon cats, Tormund and Snow. Fun fact: each cat outweighs the dog... by a lot. I have an amazing husband who is my best friend. We are SF Giants fans, and try to follow each game. In my spare time, I like to embark on creative projects like painting, writing, scrapbooking, and occasional (minor) home improvements. I am also a self-proclaimed Pinterest junkie!
